Mission Atlanta is scheduled for June 5-11, 2011.
At the heart of our responsibility as followers of Christ, we find the call to serve others and to share Christ. Mission Atlanta is about learning to follow through on these responsibilities, and we have a great time doing it! During the week of Mission Atlanta we share in morning Bible studies, a variety of mission projects, and an evening worship time.
Below is a basic schedule for the week. It is a bit different each year, but the fundamentals and purpose stay the same. We work hard and we play hard in the course of the week. Some of the groups take a good bit of advance preparation to be ready. You’ll be exhausted when it’s all over… but in a good way. Learning to serve can draw us very close to Christ and each other, making even the most difficult tasks surprisingly, well, fun!
Our ministry sites are as near as our own back yards and as far away as Texarkana, helping us to meet a variety of physical and spiritual needs during the week. The teams emphases include drama (must be joined by the beginning of the Spring semester), missions, children, and Painting/Construction/Yard work.
Mission Atlanta is open to 7th-12th grade students. Need-based scholarships are available.
