God is Working
Wednesday, 31 March 2010 12:00

Today was a day of transition from building the Mediaguas to loading them onto a double tandem lowboy. We loaded the sixteen homes (unassembled) onto the truck and were really blessed with our Chilean friends who have really worked hard along with us. Some do not go to church. They heard about us being in Temuco doing earthquake recovery ministry. We had two young men in their early thirties accept Christ yesterday. Today a man in his late seventies ask Jesus into his heart.

Wednesday will be a day of great opportunity as we travel northwest to the quake zone. Our top priority will be to share Christ through our actions and by sharing what Christ has done for us. The message of hope that we will share is that God loves them and there is hope in Him through Jesus Christ. The missionaries plan to follow up after we leave.

Our prayer is that home churches will be planted in this city of twenty thousand. The city is Canete. We have prayed fervently that the Holy Spirit will go before us and that Jesus will save many. We will depart in the morning at 5:30 am.

We want to thank you for your prayers. Many have been answered this week. God Bless you.

Built and Ready
Monday, 29 March 2010 12:00

Work is going very well. We have built a total of sixteen mediaguas ready to deliver tomorrow. We will be busy tomorrow loading them for the trip north. We will unload them and be ready to assemble them Wednesday.

We had five locals working with us today and had great fellowship. We also had six come after work this afternoon and they worked until about nine tonight. We had a meal with the day and night crew. The meal was prepared by the local pastors wives. We, again, had a wonderful time of fellowship. We are very busy but are also having a wonderful time. The Lord is good.

Worship and God's Wonders
Sunday, 28 March 2010 12:00

Paul, two IMB missionaries & local contractor (Mario) drove three hours north to Canete to view damage & see where shelters will be delivered on Tuesday. We met with a local pastor & a mayor of a city who will provide three trucks. We developed plans to move and erect the homes. The rest of the team split up in groups of four and attended three local churches. We went to an Vapuche Indian village to a home church. The church was made up of 25% adults & 75% teenagers and elementary kids. They led the music portion of the service and Bro. Abner (the Chilean pastor) preached. His heart is for the young but is able to reach the parents also. The church is located in a former chicken house that has been converted to a church. This was truly a blessing. The people are very friendly and outgoing.

Yesterday afternoon, six of us climbed the Volcano Villarrica in the Andes Mountains. It was a beautiful trip but took every ounce of strength to climb to the snow line.

Today we will once again assemble five more Mediaguas. Tomorrow we will go to the quake area and begin installing them. It is there that we will also connect to the victims of the quake and tsunami to share the love of Jesus and give them a word of hope.

Getting to Work
Saturday, 27 March 2010 12:00

We arrived on time Friday afternoon. The missionaries met us and we developed a plan to begin work on Saturday morning.

We had a very productive work day in that we pre-fabbed 5 mediagagua [homes] by 6 pm today. The work team will divide up in the morning and go with four different pastors to their respective churches. Monday will be another work day. The weather has been perfect so far except for three earthquakes. They have been out from Santiago other than one that was just west of us on the coast.

There are four missionaries and their families that we are working for. They have been very busy since the quake. They are ministering to the earthquake victims and they will go with us to set up the homes as we finish them in multiples of five. We have been very well received by the people in Temuco and the missionaries & their families. We pray that the worship services go well at FBC in the morning.
